Noelle Herrenschmidt
Every once in a while, Darlene sends me a post from a great blog called Paris Breakfast. This post is about a watercolorist that uses her talent to record, visually, the Paris Senate (photographers are not permitted.)
Meet Aquarelliste-Reporter Noelle Herrenschmidt
If you are interested in more information about Noelle, here is the link to her website. If you clink on the tab
Dessins d'audience near the top of the page, there are some great examples of her work. (Hope you understand French.)
Quote from Carol Gillott (creator of ParisBreakfast) : "Hi I'm Carol Gillott, Mom taught me watercolors at 5. I'm still at it, now tripping over cobblestones, living in a 6th-floor garret on l'Ile Saint-Louis, Paris. Savor Parisbreakfast with a hot chocolate and croissant. I paint Paris dreams."
Thank you, Darlene

Obi Kaufmann
The Chronicle’s Sunday section Style had a cover piece about Obi Kaufmann, a watercolorist, who has created an illustrated guide to our state called “The California Field Atlas.” Here’s a quote from the artist about his point of view: “The book works best as a manual of conservation, a handbook to the deep, long-term and ancient ecological mechanisms of the state and its themes are not swayed by the events, terrible or otherwise, that play themselves out year after year across California’s rich and vital topography.”

Obi was an oil painter, studio artist, and changed to watercolors for this book, which includes paintings, poetry and writings. Available through Amazon.
